Where Kat has been for a month…

Where have I been for the last month? What, you say, could possibly have taken Ms. Kitty Kat away from her pc? Fair reader, I say unto thee, behold the BEHEMOTH project on which I’ve worked 37 days straight without an off day in sight. Behold Youth Creates 2007. A project headed by 7Stages in Atlanta that takes upwards of 24 fabulous people under age 18 and allows them to create a show from scratch. They wanted to do a show on art this year, hence the dayglo poster to the right.

Me? I’ve been teaching them semi-safe ways to do circus-level acrobatics and also how to be dressin’. Ha.

Please do come see us. It’s two shows only and you REALLY need to make reservations. $10 ticket. www.7stages.org.

Beauty this

When the movie Clueless came out in the nineties I was obsessed with Alicia Silverstone. While she didn’t initiate my vegetarianism she may have cemented it with her pro-animal beliefs, and I would call her a subtle influence throughout my teen-hood.

Just like so many other girls in their early-to-mid-twenties, no?

So get excited, because at SEPHORA they are re-releasing their “vintage” shades. Pictured here is Pussy Cat, my personal favorite is Jailbait.

They are a mere $7 and they last f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Plus the free gumball-machine ring! Go check them out in person at your nearest Sephora, and pretend to be Cher the whole time you are there.

Get off the internet already

If you’ve not yet been out to see one of the 365 days/365 plays series please do so. As far as I could find on a short Google search there are no pictures up from Atlanta theatres that have participated via the 365 website, but here is one from somewhere else:

In each participating city different performance groups take different weeks worth of plays and do their own spin on the material.? Each show is, in this way, completely unique.

This week no one other than DAD’S GARAGE is performing a weeks worth of plays. Dad’s is notorious for making moving and exciting work, and through this project you can go see them work their magic for FREE. Because 365 plays are free.

It’s in Atlanta, it’s frugal, and a it’s a find. Get it?

And if you live in another metropolitan area you can check the website and go see something in your hometown. It’s only the LARGEST theatre production to ever take place in the USA.

Check it and get off the internet for once: FOLLOW YOUR HEART.

Apologies, apologies

AI-ai, amigos!? Very sorry for this recent dearth of posts.

The situation has been as follows.? I was involved in a rather large and last-minute play production schedule, and also was gone to the tops of the Appalachian Mountains in TN to spend a little pre-Independence day fiesta time with mi familia.? Not to worry though, I’ll begin posting about our cheapest fun and fashionable spots in the ATL starting tomorrow, and this time with a bit of regularity.

Meanwhile, if you have a fashion-type question or an outfit that rocks or some hidden secret to cheap fun-ness in our sweet? Southern metro area, you and I should talk.? Please feel free to email me at kat@hometurfmedia.com. I promise to post all e-conversations that are On Target for the world to see.
